Envision: Urban Community Development Site Associate in Cleveland
Doors of Kingdom opportunity are opening in Cleveland, Ohio, amid a tough urban environment, a rapidly developing refugee population, and through the collaborative efforts of Kingdom-minded churches and organizations. As part of our team, this individual or couple would be expected to contribute to developing strategies for community development, outreach, and discipleship. Our team hosts short-term missions teams regularly, so any candidate(s) should value hospitality and leadership development. Our team is passionate about using education and vocational training as a vehicle for the gospel. Working in this cross-cultural environment requires a strong missional calling, a willingness to work on a team, flexibility, and an innovative personality.

Position Type
- International worker (IW)–Envision–Vocational Track
- Community development (urban), education, ESL/TESOL, discipleship, business and leadership development, refugee or immigrant ministry, evangelism, urban gardening/sustainable development
- Single or couple
Responsibilities:
- Participate in the day-to-day staffing at both our vocational training and refugee ministry centers
- Disciple interns and residents
- Develop strategies for neighborhood and community development, including social enterprise opportunities
- Work with short-term teams
- Connect and work with local Alliance churches and pastors
Required Qualifications:
- Completion of Alliance Polity course
- Completion of the World Perspectives Mission Course (minimum of certificate level) or equivalent
- Demonstrated proficiency in a vocation

Timeline for Deployment:
Beginning as early as summer/fall 2023. Following appointment, and once fundraising goals and other qualifications are met, the appointee is required to attend a cross-cultural and language-acquisition program (as applicable), and pre-field orientation prior to deploying.

We expect the candidate(s) to be willing to live within Cleveland city limits, among neighbors primarily living at or below the poverty level.
Health Considerations:
Cleveland is home to the Cleveland Clinic and is ideal for someone who needs access to a major health care system.
Expectations for Spouse:
Spousal roles vary based on the spouse’s gifts, training, and abilities as well as the needs of the team. It is expected that both spouses will be meaningfully involved in meeting ministry objectives depending on the nature of family roles, children, etc.
Children’s Educational Plan and Options:
Public school or homeschooling are available options, as well as various private schools. If you live inside Cleveland city limits, you will have access to an education voucher that helps offset the cost of private school.
