Dakar Academy Schools: Human Resource Manager
The Human Resources Manager supports the mission of Dakar Academy by fostering an environment that encourages Christian faith and service among staff and students.

SUMMARY
This role serves as a key liaison between staff and administration, and between the school and partnering sending agencies. The HR Manager oversees staff data management, recruitment processes, onboarding and orientation, and the overall support and coaching of staff throughout their transition and employment. The HR Manager also participates as a member of various administrative and management teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: FINANCIAL OVERSIGHT & MANAGEMENT
- Serve as a liaison among school staff, administration, and sending agencies, ensuring clear communication and strong partnership.
- Lead the recruitment and retention of highly qualified staff.
- Strengthen staff longevity through effective coaching and support.
- Provide resources, policies, benefits and procedures that promote fairness, clarity, and consistency in daily operations.
- Oversee the accuracy and security of staff data.
DAILY AND MONTHLY RESPONSIBILITIES
Staff Support
- Serve as a point of contact for staff concerns, applying Biblical principles in coaching and problem-solving.
- Regularly assess staffing needs through notices of intent, surveys, and ongoing conversations with the Director, Principals, and Recruitment department.
- Schedule and conduct initial interviews with qualified candidates and exit interviews with departing staff.
- Collaborate with Recruiting and department heads to determine appropriate placement for new staff.
- Work closely with Admin to ensure effective communication and provide support as needed.
- Oversee compliance with accreditation requirements, credentials, and staff documentation.
- Provide coaching to support staff in their emotional and spiritual growth.
Data Management
- Safeguard personal information of current staff and applicants.
- Maintain an updated database of approved job descriptions.
- Review annual bonus reports and monitor employee absences and leave.
- Assist with the submission and review of mid-year commitment contracts for returning staff.
- Support the continual updating of DA policies and procedures and contribute to new policy creation when needed.
Orientation & Onboarding
- Work with the HR Office to prepare pre-field orientation materials for new staff and their sending agencies once appointments are confirmed.
- Collaborate with Admin and HR team members to plan and execute on-site new staff orientation programs, including condensed sessions for mid-year hires.
- Conduct annual reviews of orientation materials and revise as needed.
- Provide support to ensure successful cross-cultural and overseas transitions for staff.
Adjunct HR Staff Management
- Supervise HR team and other assigned staff; conduct annual performance evaluations.
Sending Agency Relationships
Maintain communication and updated agreements with each sending agency regarding:
- Position openings
- Posting agreements
- Volunteer agreements
- Home Ministry Assignment (leave of absence) schedules
- Termination of service when necessary
The HR Manager will perform other duties as assigned by the Director.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s Degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of administrative experience.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience or training in cross-cultural transition preferred.
- Agreement to abide by the decisions of the Board and Administration of Dakar Academy.
