Holy, Spirit-Filled, On Mission
A recap of the final day of Council 2025
During the Friday morning President’s Report, Tim Meier, vice president for Development, shared a new Alliance World Tour. This presentation provides an overview of The Alliance’s work around the world through stories, statistics, and photos. The rest of the morning was largely set aside to honor President John Stumbo for his 12 years of service in leading The Alliance. Guest speakers, including former Alliance presidents Gary Benedict and Peter Nanfelt, shared stories and commendations to President Stumbo. One of John’s favorite musicians, Russ Taff, was also brought in as a surprise guest to perform “Day by Day,” a hymn of personal significance to President Stumbo.

“My leadership is no better than my day-by-day, moment-by-moment dependence upon the Holy Spirit.”
—John Stumbo, president of the U.S. Alliance
Nearing the end of the morning session, C&MA Board Chairperson Hazael Morell also shared that over President Stumbo’s 12-year tenure, The Alliance has sent 567 new international workers, planted 421 churches, raised $754 million for Alliance ministries in the U.S. and across the world, and baptized 119,581 individuals who have accepted Christ as their personal Savior. Praise God!
As a conclusion to the final business session of the week this afternoon, Marko Requena read the Statement of Faith and Moderator Andy Hawkins prayed for the Church and the world.

At the beginning of the evening service, President Stumbo washed President-Elect Jonathan Schaeffer‘s feet and blessed him with a few words before the Board of Directors commissioned him into the mantle of his new role.
Jonathan then spoke the final message of Council on three characteristics of those who belong to God, ones who are His. “Those who are His pursue holiness, they welcome the Spirit, they are on mission,” he shared.
In closing benediction, President Stumbo said, “Alliance family, may the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.”
Seen & Heard

“To be His means that we’re people who say, ‘Jesus, I want to be like You. I want to say no to every temptation of the enemy and say yes to You. I want to pursue holiness, and when I mess up I want to keep short accounts. I want my heart to be soft in Your hands.'”
—Jonathan Schaeffer, president-elect of the U.S. Alliance
