A Call to Prayer for a Mighty Move of God

The Alliance is praising the Lord for His mighty work that is spreading to campuses across the country and to some of our Alliance family gatherings, and we are humbly seeking the Lord for what He might desire to do in and through this move of the Spirit.

On Wednesday, February 8, Asbury University in Wilmore, Kentucky, held its regularly scheduled chapel service for students led by Zach Meerkreebs from Envision. At its conclusion, about 20 students remained in the Hughes Memorial Auditorium seeking the Lord and worshipping. Shortly after, students began returning to the auditorium with a posture of repentance and praise. Over 60 hours later, a unique move of God continues on Asbury’s campus as their students, University of Kentucky students, several other area colleges, local churches, and people from the community come with holy expectancy and general curiosity. People are surrendering their lives to Christ, accepting calls to the nations, and receiving miraculous healing.

The Alliance is praising the Lord for His mighty work that is spreading to campuses across the country and to some of our Alliance family gatherings, and we are humbly seeking the Lord for what he might desire to do in and through this move of the Spirit. In this posture, we extend a call to prayer for the following:

  • Pray for the pastors and leaders at colleges and churches around the country who are opening their chapels and sanctuaries for the work of the Holy Spirit. Pray for discernment, wisdom, and rest, as they continue to lead their communities.
  • Pray that a spirit of radical humility and repentance would continue to move across the communities in which God is bringing revival. Pray for continued salvations, calls to the nations, and miraculous healings.
  • Pray for the Lord to show you the ways He might be asking you to be a facilitator of a moment of expectancy in your local church or community.
  • Pray most importantly that the name of Jesus Christ would be exalted in more communities as the days progress.

Our prayer for this moment comes from Ephesians 3:16-20:

“I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.”
