Jonathan Schaeffer Vlog No. 6 | Alliance Impact: Stories of Hope
Jonathan and Mary Schaeffer wish the Alliance family a happy New Year as they share some stories from the 2025 Alliance Impact Report.
View Transcript– Hi, Alliance family, and happy New Year. We hope you had a meaningful Christmas season celebrating the birth of our Savior, Jesus.
– And we hope that the wonder of Jesus’ amazing love for us has been the backdrop of your new year as it’s begun. As the words of both Scripture and song testify so wonderfully, He is our Emmanuel, God with us, every moment, every day.
– We enjoyed some sweet family time over the holidays, such a gift to be together with those that we love.
– And one highlight was welcoming a new grandson into the world. And you’ll see in the photo proof of how adorable he is.
– As a family and as an Alliance family, we eagerly look forward to experiencing more of the Lord’s goodness in this new year, and we’d love to invite you to join us in seeking Him together in our prayer initiative, 40 Days of Prayer. If you haven’t signed up yet, you can do that at 40days.cmalliance.org.
– And as the new year begins, what a great time to reflect on what God has done this last year, to see some of the things that He’s been up to in our Alliance family. The 2025 Impact Report is now available. There are lots of highlights to celebrate—just incredible stories of God working through your partnership with our Alliance family to extend Jesus’ love to people who matter to Him all over the world.
– I have the same feeling as the Apostle Paul when he says in Philippians 1, “I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”
– So, can we echo those words to you and just say thank you. Thank you for partnering together to bring all of Jesus to all the world, in our neighborhoods and to the nations.
– When I read through the Impact Report, wow, did it make me so grateful for what God is doing. We really hope you’ll take some time to browse through that, either the digital version or the printed one. You’re going to be blessed to see the fruit of your giving, your praying, your sending, your going. Let’s just give a few sneak peeks for starts.
– Yeah, in Ukraine—I mean, if you think about what life is like in Ukraine right now—even in the midst of war, our brothers and sisters there hosted a series of children’s summer camps, and hundreds of children heard the gospel for the first time, and many of them indicated that they want to follow Christ. Also, despite dangerous traveling conditions, there was a conference for young adults. It was attended by over 200 people, many of whom committed to serve Jesus. In July alone, churches in and around Kyiv celebrated over 20 baptisms. Thank you for praying for and supporting our brothers and sisters in Ukraine.
– In Mongolia, local leaders have been trained for prison ministry among some of Asia’s remaining unreached peoples. And three of those leaders now visit a prison weekly to share the hope and the light of the gospel to incarcerated people. Thank you for your generosity and for your prayers for this ministry.
– In Columbus, Ohio, Jubilee Intercultural Alliance Church has a thriving ministry to people who are experiencing homelessness. Our brothers and sisters at Jubilee have been providing meals every month for more than 50 families, praying for them, helping those who obtain housing to get settled into their new homes, showing the love of Jesus. Thank you for demonstrating God’s compassion and grace to the poor and marginalized in your own communities.
– In Sendai, Japan, one of our newest ministry locations, a remarkable partnership has been established by the Chinese Churches Association to support this new initiative. And what began as one supporting church in 2020 has grown to 13 U.S. churches now involved year-round. The Chinese Association’s multilingual, multi-generational teams serve in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin, building strong relationships with international workers and local residents, many of whom are taking steps toward Jesus. Thank you for partnering in your own local churches with international fields.
– In 2025, you sent 49 new international workers to some really hard places. One of those persons is a Deaf ministry worker. He and his family are serving an emerging community of Deaf believers in Central Asia. And within the last year, five Deaf men and women have come to faith in Jesus after discovering the life-changing message of the gospel in a way they can understand. Thank you for praying. Thank you for giving. Thank you for sending.
– God is on the move. He is so good, so faithful. These are just a few of the many, many wonderful stories of the ways that He is at work through The Alliance around the globe.

– Friends, these stories happen because of your prayers, your giving, your going. Thank you for helping bring all of Jesus to all the world. We are so grateful to be on mission with you.
