Noe and Keila Hernandez

Serving in Paraguay

We are Noe and Keila Hernandez and we are living and serving in Paraguay along with our children Magdalena (15), Santiago (14), and Eden (10). We love good coffee, good movies and good conversation. Our daughter Magdalena (Lena) is a budding artist and can often be found drawing in her notebooks. Santiago enjoys soccer, the Green Bay Packers, and is only sitting still when it is his turn to play on the iPad! Eden is a clever and sweet girl who desperately loves her dog.

A native of Mexico, Noe grew up in a Catholic home and as a teenager moved to the United States with his family. At the age of 17 Noe gave his life to the Lord and felt a call to full time ministry. Keila grew up on a farm in Iowa and gave her life to the Lord when she was 10 years old through the ministry of a Christian radio station.

Both attended Crown College and were married in 2003. From 2005-2013 they worked in church planting and Hispanic ministries in Ottumwa, IA. Missions has always been something close to their hearts and in October of 2012 they began to sense God's leading towards international ministry. They moved to Asuncion, Paraguay in January, 2014. Both work in church ministry and leadership development.

How you can Pray

1. Continue Praying for IMAP (Alliance Ministerial Institute of Paraguay). In addition to regular classes there will be 2 seminars during the month of May, one on church administration and another on disciple making. Please pray that we will be able to hold each event as planned without problems with government restrictions due to the pandemic. Pray for those who will attend, that it would be a time of Spirit lead growth and development for each person.

2. Pray for new churches - There are 2 possible sites for new Alliance church plants in Paraguay, the cities of Limpio and Ypane. Please pray for wisdom as we work together with the Paraguayan leaders. Pray that we will have the unity of the Holy Spirit as we move forward towards a common goal. Pray also for the right people to follow the Lord's leading to be involved in these ministries.

3. Please pray for each missionary and those to whom they are ministering. Each Alliance missionary works closely with a local church in ministry and outreach. Pray for new contacts and neighbors to come to Jesus. Pray for wisdom, strength, and fortitude for each of us. (Luis and Olga Felipa, Noe and Keila Hernandez, Dean and Donna Bracewell, Joseph and Yolanda Grover, Brent and Lisa Liberda, and Stephen and Sarah Zuber)

4. Pray fervently for the physical and spiritual health of our team. Lisa Liberda (and family) will spend the next 3 months in the US seeking treatment for the chronic allergic reaction that has continued since her arrival in Paraguay. Pray for complete healing and that the Liberda family will be able to return to Paraguay soon.

5. Continue to pray for the COVID situation in Paraguay. We are currently under additional restrictions, including an 8pm curfew as well as limited church gatherings (25 people). Pray for all our health and safety, and for patience as the pandemic is still a daily reality in Paraguay.

Blessings to you all,
Noe and Keila,
Lena, Santi, and Eden
