Pastor of Discipleship & Small Groups Our church is a growing congregation with people of all ages and backgrounds. Our average morning worship attendance is approximately 300. We are looking for an associate pastor, preferably with prior ministry experience, to provide leadership in our discipleship process and help develop a vibrant small group ministry for all ages. Menomonie Alliance Church has been a part of Menomonie for the past 53 years and has a rich legacy in the community. Menomonie sits in the heart of the Red Cedar Valley in Northwestern, WI. Menomonie will quench your thirst for adventure with breathtaking landscapes to explore. All four seasons are celebrated with limitless possibilities for recreation and outdoor enjoyment. Adventure abounds as Menomonie is home to Lake Menomin, Red Cedar State Trail, Hoffman Hills, Devils Punch Bowl, ideal fishing spots, biking, hiking, and so much more. Menomonie boasts a vibrant downtown, full of rich historic architecture, first-rate restaurants, and a large selection of independent locally owned shops, restaurants, cafes, and much more. Menomonie is also home to the University of Wisconsin – Stout campus. UW-Stout boasts roughly 9,000 students, brining Menomonie to life throughout the school year. On average, 60-70 UW-Stout students attend Menomonie Alliance Church during the school year. The School District of the Menomonie Area consists of a high school, middle school, and five elementary schools and offers a wide array of extra-curricular activities for students and excellent educational opportunities. Menomonie Alliance Church’s lead pastor is in his early 40s and has almost 20 years of experience in ministry with the C&MA, as youth pastor, executive pastor, and lead pastor. He has served at Menomonie Alliance since August 2019. Our worship pastor is in his 30s and has served at Menomonie Alliance Church for the past 10 years. MINISTRY OBJECTIVE: Lead the body of Christ at the Menomonie Alliance Church to obey all Jesus commanded and so be transformed into the likeness of Jesus Christ, thereby glorifying God. Under direct supervision of the Lead Pastor, the Pastor of Discipleship and Small Groups (PDSG) works with staff, lay leaders and the congregation to implement and oversee small group teaching and other activities that reflect life in the Kingdom of God as portrayed in the Bible and in accord with Matthew 28:18-20. RESPONSIBILITIES: Prayer Preaching/Teaching Discipleship Young Adult Ministries Small Group Development MINISTRY DETAIL AND EXPECTED TIME ALLOCATIONS: Oversight of Disciplemaking Ministries 30% Emerging Young Adult Ministry 20% Small Group Development and Maintenance 30% Support, Coordination, and Administration 20% QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge MINISTRY ACCOUNTABILITY & REQUIREMENTS: The PDSG is directly accountable to the Lead Pastor and the Administrative Board/Elders, and generally to the local congregation. The PDSG holds a Bachelors (or Masters) Degree from an accredited college/university with a concentration in a field of Christian Ministry. Licensed or is willing to be licensed by the Western Great Lakes District of the C&MA. He is ordained or working towards ordination. He upholds the C&MA distinctives and ensures they are being taught as appropriate in small groups. All staff Pastors are amenable to the Lead Pastor and the Administrative Board.
