Director/ Pastor of Music Ministries First Alliance Church of Erie, PA, ("FAC") is seeking a self-motivated, high capacity, committed Christian leader to serve the church full-time in the area of music ministry. Job Description: Director/ Pastor of Music Ministries Our Mission: To transform Erie by introducing people to a transformational relationship with Jesus. Position Overview Worship is more than just singing. It is our full response to who God is and what He has done and is doing. In addition to singing, worship must integrate prayer, the preaching of God's Word, observation of ordinances and giving of tithes and offerings. This position focuses on the music aspect of worship while aligning with all other aspects of Holy Spirit filled worship. This position must incorporate into worship, music that is theologically accurate, deep, singable and language which speaks to a wide age range of worship participants. A Director/ Pastor of Music Ministries helps develop and lead the music ministry for the church, in consultation with the Lead Pastor and other team members, in a way that is consistent with the mission, values, philosophy and theology of FAC. Reports to: Executive Director while working closely with the Lead Pastor Director/ Pastor of Music Ministries Job Description Essential Roles and Responsibilities: • Oversee, lead and provide vision to the music ministry, including the audio/video team in alignment with the overall vision and philosophy of FAC. • Lead the congregation in Spirit filled and effective corporate worship during Sunday services and other special services. • Recruit, disciple, mentor, and develop music team members. • Oversee special congregational music and/or worship events, such as praise and prayer events, Christmas Eve services and Good Friday services, etc. • Work closely with the communications team to develop appropriate stage designs for services. • Work closely with the communications team to develop creative endeavors in which we convey the vision of FAC. • Provide oversight in lightning, sound, and presentation software and assist in production areas when needed. • Regularly meet with Lead Pastor to develop and plan Sunday morning services. • Be an active participant on the Senior Leadership Team. • Participate in all scheduled staff meetings and staff development opportunities. • Prepare and submit for approval the annual budget for the music ministry. 1 The title "Pastor" requires the candidate to be licensed and/or ordained or qualified to become licensed and/or ordained by the Christian and Missionary Alliance through the Western District of PA • Submit regular reports to leadership and Board of Elders as approved by the Executive Director. • Work alongside the Pastor of Care Ministries to fill the musical needs for funerals. • Other duties as deemed necessary by leadership based on giftedness and passion as discussed with the Lead Pastor and Executive Director. Job Requirements: • Dedicated Christ follower who has an understanding of the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit. • Excellent biblical knowledge. • A clear gifting in musical ability both vocally and instrumentally. • Experience in leading music teams in the context of a local church (i.e., organizing, planning, equipping/training, supervising and shepherding praise/worship team members). • Degree in a ministry/music related field preferred. • Proficient in the use of technology; such as computer skills, presentation software, soundboards, etc. • Knowledge and appreciation for a wide genre of Christian music from traditional hymns to more contemporary music. • Excellent organizational skills • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills. • Ability to understand, develop and maintain an approved budget. • Available to work extended hours, evenings, over weekends and holidays, and on short notice. • Ability to develop and accomplish concrete goals and objectives which align with FAC's vision. • Must complete and submit an Applicant Survey which identifies the applicant's personal and spiritual beliefs which demonstrates alignment with FAC and C&MA's statements of faith, vision and mission in the sole discretion of FAC. • Ability to operate a motor vehicle in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania • PA Acts 31, 33, 34 and 114 Clearances may be required when having regular contact with youth. • Licensed worker or pursuing credentials with The Christian and Missionary Alliance preferred.
