Senior Pastor, who can work with one or two full-time staff

Central Pacific District C&MA

Hillside Alliance Church is an established church community with a history of pastors who have stayed for considerable amount of years. This has lent stability to the church and continuity to its ministries. We are looking for a pastor with at least six to ten years of ministry experience who is willing to make a long-term commitment to the church. It would be of advantage if this person would be described as a “People Person”. We are looking for someone with a warm personality, not judgmental, approachable, compassionate, a person of integrity and genuine. Truly, we would like someone who has a servant’s heart and a confidence and vision to lead others. In terms of specific giftings, we prize preaching and teaching as the highest priority. Though it would be a bonus if the person has administrative capability, this is not the top priority. As our preacher, we expect the Senior Pastor to be well-trained in Theology and Hermeneutics and able to both train young Christians and relate to different age groups. It would also be helpful if this person has experience in counseling. Because our Celebrate Recovery ministry is focused on hurts, habits and hangups, and those with other addictive issues, it would be good if the applicant has some knowledge and/or experience with this type of ministry. We would prefer a married applicant, though we respect that the applicant’s wife is not automatically part of his ministry. The applicant would have to meet all the qualifications of the Christian and Missionary Alliance for pastoral candidates. (please click on link on the page Application Requirements to see if you are qualified). Salary is negotiable, but will fall in line with the median salaries of this region for this type of job. Benefits are also negotiable. The job is currently an open position. Applicant should be willing to start as soon as possible. Contact David Gehr
