Location: East New Market, MD Travel Required: Yes, mileage reimbursable Licensing required: Yes, C&MA Accreditation Position Type: Full-time Salary (50 hours) HR Contact: Head Pastor Mark Brumley Date Posted: Feb 1, 2019 Will Train Applicant: On the job training, as needed Background Check: Required Preferred start date: June 1, 2019 Reporting to: Head Pastor of SAC ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Youth Ministry responsibilities: - Lead a ministry to teenagers including outreach, weekly youth group, personal discipleship, regular retreats, and special events that will bring them to maturity in Christ. - Encourage and shepherd parents of teens and youth ministry volunteers - Maintain a strong presence in our community, especially the schools - Incorporate teenagers and their families into the larger church family Worship Arts responsibilities: - Lead worship regularly during our Sunday worship services - Organize teams of lay-people who will lead worship on a rotation, serving in a variety of roles (i.e. instrumentalists, vocalists, tech team, etc) - Increase church-wide engagement in worship - Teach lessons (if possible) and train people to serve in worship ministry Pastoral Staff responsibilities: - Weekly staff meetings - Preaching/teaching - Church administration - Regional, national, and worldwide engagement with the ministries of the C&MA CHARACTER TRAIT REQUIREMENTS: - A life-giving, intimate, personal relationship with Jesus - A humble, teachable spirit to work under the authority of the Head Pastor and Governing Board - Must manage all areas of life and ministry (especially church finances, relationships with children, and personal soul care) with integrity and accountability - Must be willing to regularly tithe to SAC and faithfully give to the Great Commission Fund of the C&MA QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: - Called by God to pastoral ministry - Completion of a Bachelor’s Degree or Ministerial Study Program - C&MA Accreditation and pursuant of C&MA Ordination/Consecration (to be completed within 3 years) - Preferred: At least 30 hours of Bible & Theology courses, 15 hours of Ministry/Missions PREFERRED SKILLS: - Worship leading skills - Teaching skills, especially Bible teaching, music lessons, etc. - Any other skills/certification helpful in advancing the mission of the local Church FINANCIAL PACKAGE - The salary for this position will scale with the Dorchester County teacher pay scale, based upon years of licensed ministry with the C&MA. Entry-level salary, with no C&MA experience, is $35,000 plus benefits. Our area of ministry is Dorchester County, which has a farming, hunting and waterman culture. We are located on the Choptank River of the Chesapeake Bay. Dorchester County is about halfway between Washington, D.C. and Ocean City, MD, roughly one hour from those cities, as well as Baltimore and Dover.
