Northeastern District C&MA

Senior Pastor PLEASE NOTE SPECIAL APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS BELOW. Location: South Glens Falls, New York, United States Date Posted: 10/24/2018 Denominations: Christian Missionary Alliance Church Size: 500+ Job Type: Full-Time What We Need: Pine Knolls Alliance church exists to experience and share the hope and healing of Jesus Christ. We live in one of the lowest evangelical populations in the country (2-4%), but we know God is powerfully at work in reaching our area. Pine Knolls is one of the larger local churches (avg. attendance is around 500) and is uniquely positioned to create powerful change in our surrounding communities. We are seeking a senior pastor to lead the congregation deeper into the healing power of the Gospel and deeper into sharing the hope of Christ. You must excel in sharing God’s Word in a sermon and over a meal. You will need to lead, build, and inspire all our teams toward our vision. We want you to disciple leaders who will change the world. We want you to mourn with those who experience addiction, illness, and brokenness. For us, lost college kids down the street matter, as do folks living in remote Cambodian villages. This position requires a bachelor’s degree and 8-10 years experience in pastoral ministry in a similar-sized church. Master’s degree and seminary training are preferred. This position requires humility, a healthy degree of self-awareness, and a definite calling. Currently, we have a dedicated staff and a group of experienced elders, ready to assist the new pastor in tackling whatever challenges may arise. Pine Knolls is eager to see the ways our vision and congregation will impact your life, just as much as we look forward to your impact on ours. This is an exciting time for Pine Knolls, and we value you and your family’s role as we grow deeper in Christ together. Candidates already licensed or ordained with the Christian & Missionary Alliance (C&MA) are preferred, but all candidates must be able to meet licensing and ordination requirements with the C&MA. Primary Responsibilities The position description establishes the five core functions necessary for the senior pastor of Pine Knolls. Within each function are the action steps that describe general areas of responsibility and the “Critical Results” which define the performance measures for each function. Sunday Worship - Creating an atmosphere where worshipping Christ is central, and the authority of God’s word is proclaimed. - Passionate and articulate preaching of God’s Word, relevant across many stages of spiritual maturity - Develop plan for preaching with input from elders and programming team - Preach approx. 35-40 times per year. - Schedule and give input to others who preach. Critical Result - Congregation grows deeper in Christ through corporate worship and hearing the Gospel preached. Congregants feel comfortable inviting new people, and those new people feel welcomed. Critical Result - Staff feels adequately supported and challenged to fulfill their unique call. Staff is unified and cares deeply for one another. D. Leadership Development - helping people see and exercise their influence - Multiply our impact by following Christ’s model of discipleship -Peter, James, and John - Develop a pipeline/structure for the care of hurting people; an understanding that hurting people can save a whole village (John 4). - Be in regular relationship with lost people Critical Result - More and more people move along the discipleship path and are always recruiting one or two new people to walk alongside them. Congregants feel empowered to live out their unique calling. E.
