North River Church is looking for a part-time Children’s and/or Student Ministry Director. This position is developmental and will be customized to the skill set of the successful candidate. The responsibilities will be adjusted to emphasize children or youth depending on the candidate’s experience and training. The primary focus is the oversight and development of our children’s and student ministries; however, the successful candidate may be required to teach in a specific age group as necessary. Ministry Position Purpose: The Children’s and Student Ministry Director will be responsible for the vision, training, management and direction of children’s and youth ministries at North River Church. Requirements: We are looking for a passionate individual who has a strong foundation of faith and some background or experience in children’s and/or youth ministry and teaching. This person must have strong written and verbal communication skills, people skills, and be punctual and responsible. This person should be able to set goals and create a vision for these ministries in accordance with the church’s mission and values. S(he) needs to be proactive and to be able to accommodate to change by being creative and flexible. S(he) should have experience successfully organizing volunteers at some capacity. S(he) must agree to the Alliance Statement of Faith. S(he) will be expected to become a member in good standing at North River Church. General Responsibilities: 1. Recruit and train volunteers 2. Coordinate with Sunday School Superintendent and AWANA Commander 3. Prepare weekly Wednesday night and Sunday morning lessons and activities 4. Disciple students 5. Build relationships with students outside church hours (e.g. ball games, dance recitals, school lunch, etc.) 6. Plan and execute events outside the usual Wednesday/Sunday activities to foster relationship and new members (e.g. lock-ins, bowling, Lookouts games, service activities, etc.) 7. Support nursery and children’s church volunteers as needed Accountability: This position will report to Pastor Duane Mabee via regular meetings, with ultimate accountability held by the church board and elders. Time requirements and compensation: This is a salaried part-time position (up to 29 hours weekly). The salary will commensurate with the level of experience. To Apply: 1.
