The Community Alliance campus consists of two main buildings, upper and lower parking lots and is entirely mortgage free. The first building houses our sanctuary, church and staff offices, a small coffee shop, several classrooms and a multipurpose room/gym (with kitchen facility). The second building (two story) houses more classrooms, a nursery, a smaller multipurpose room and a small kitchen. The congregation has been generous and faithful in financial giving to both local and global ministries. Community Alliance Church is located in the Fairmede/Hilltop neighborhood of the city of Richmond, CA and along the northern border of the city of San Pablo. Richmond is considered a smaller mid-size city and is a multicultural community. We like to think of ourselves as a multi-generational church. There is a lot of variety in our congregation and reality is, a large portion of the congregation is aging. We host a number of ethnic congregations in our facility that better reflect our community than our congregation alone. Though the church greatly values these elements, we also recognize the need to more effectively engage a younger generation and better reach the community we are located in. Challenges facing Community Alliance Church are: reaching out to the surrounding community with the gospel in ways that are culturally relevant and attracting younger families in the same manner. The church has come to believe that this can best be accomplished through a commitment to the values of the heritage of the Christian and Missionary Alliance. The kind of lead pastor Community Alliance Church is seeking at this time is described in the pastoral profile that follows.
