For the future growth of our church we seek a Senior Pastor with the following: Commitment to Expository Preaching and Teaching of the Word to reach the lost and for the continued growth of the believers; Ability to cast vision and direction for the church body in ministries, service, leadership and discipleship. Ability to teach, train and lead the congregation to recognize and to know and use their God given spiritual gifts. Ability to engage and mobilize multi-generational ministries. The desire and the ability to work with churches and organizations in the community in leading others to the Lord by living and demonstrating the Word. Expand our passion for global evangelism and enhance commitments to CMA missionaries. Practicing an Inclusive Leadership that develops and empowers existing staff and volunteer leaders. Provide Pastoral Services through the care and comforting of his congregational flock. Demonstrates an active prayer life. Indiana, PA 15701 Website: indianaalliance.com Phone #: 724-463-0862 POSITION SUMMARY The Indiana Alliance Church is seeking an individual to serve in the role of Senior Pastor. In this role, he will oversee the church ministries in the areas of worship, vision and strategically and compassionately reaching the Indiana Community for Jesus Christ. He will also work hand in hand with the Board of Elders (Governing Board) in the general management and administration of the church’s business and the church’s property. The job description below details the qualifications for the position of Senior Pastor and the responsibilities of the position. QUALIFICATIONS The candidate must possess or demonstrate the following: Personal: • A clear testimony of saving faith in Jesus Christ. • A character that exhibits the qualities outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:6-9; and 1 Peter 5:2-4. • A Christ-like attitude of humility and servant leadership. • A lifestyle demonstrating consistent spiritual and moral characteristics that are in harmony with the Scriptures. • A proven record of working well with others and a commitment to a team approach to ministry. • Agreement with the Statement of Faith and our core values at the Indiana Alliance Church. • A commitment to personal accountability with and to the Elders. Professional: • License or Ordination Credentials issued by the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church of America. RESPONSIBILITIES General: The primary responsibility of the Senior Pastor is to glorify God by providing Biblical leadership through focusing on God’s Word and prayer, shepherding the Body of Christ, and equipping the saints to do the work of ministry (Acts 6, 1 Peter 5, Ephesians 4). Primary Ministry Objectives: • Minister the Word of God and model the Lordship of Christ to our congregation such that it illuminates Scripture, teaches sound doctrine, inspires and convicts toward Godly living, and encourages and motivates to follow the Lord Jesus Christ more fully. • Through a process of personal engagement, love and care for our congregation so they are sustained through the challenges of life and become more able to love and care for others in the process. • In partnership with the Elders and under the Lordship of Christ Jesus as the Head of the church, develop and implement our vision so that the gospel advances in our generation and in our community. • Develop a spirit of goal setting evaluation accountability with the Elders through annual evaluations and quarterly progress reviews. Other Duties and Responsibilities: • Provide general leadership for all the ministries of the Indiana Alliance Church. • Primary preaching/teaching pastor but would also occasionally share the pulpit with guest speakers, staff, and potential future staff and the Elders. • Sets the preaching schedule in accordance with Titus 2 and Acts 20:28 and in accordance with primary ministry objectives. • Responsible for visitation and counseling. This may be delegated to other pastors or lay people. Visitation will include but is not limited to hospitals, nursing homes, shut-ins, and new attendees. Counseling includes crisis, marriage, pre-marital, and general settings. • Officiates at weddings and funerals, including performing the requisite planning. • Represents the Indiana Alliance Church in local events and ministerial relationships. • Serves as an ex officio member of all committees. The Senior Pastor can select the committees on which he will participate. He is expected to attend the Elders meetings. • Assist the Lead Elder with the preparation of the agenda for the Governing Board meetings. • Acts as the manager in charge of the church secretary and ministerial staff. (Based on the candidates giftedness and heart desires there may be other areas that would be considered under this area of responsibilities. This will be evaluated and determined in conjunction with the Elders.) WORK WEEK: • Salary/Housing allowance compensation package • Mileage reimbursement for church travel in personal vehicle • Professional pastoral budget • Health and Retirement Benefits VACATION: Our church provides paid vacation to the staff. The vacation schedule will be reviewed in light of the candidate’s current vacation schedule. Requests for time away for public speaking, ministry, or missions trips will be reviewed on a case by case basis. 1-2018
