aXcess: Youth Pastor and Community Developer in the Middle East

This position is for a male pastor to the community that can work with the Alliance Academy and the pastor of the local church to reach and disciple families from the school and community, as well as church families. As a primary contact with the church, this person should speak Arabic. The worker would not be on the church staff but would collaborate with the pastor and church staff to plan and carry out community outreach. They would also work with the school director to connect the school to the community.

aXcess: Community Development and Church Planting in the Middle East

Worker will, by day, be involved in our non-government organization (NGO), helping provide community development and poverty alleviation to the low income and high-risk program participants. There is opportunity in our women’s wellness program, either teaching fitness classes or leading educational and group therapy talk times. Afternoons and evenings will involve teaching, leading, and training students and employees in our after-school programs, including 120 high school and university students. English, leadership development, and values are taught, learned through activities, and developed in community and relationships. At night, there are opportunities to disciple new believers and participate in the underground church movement.

New workers will be based in the Alliance International Church in the central city of the state and will partner with other local Alliance churches to plan and pioneer new outreach efforts in communities in and around the area. Past outreach efforts in the area include English programs, youth and children’s events, and relief and development. Through these efforts, workers have successfully built meaningful connections with the broader community and established the international church as a uniquely welcoming place for people from all backgrounds. Ideal candidates will be forward thinkers with a passion to work with and empower local believers (especially the next generation) to advance the Kingdom in creative ways.

From a strategic Middle Eastern city, there is enormous potential to reach countries that make daily headlines with the gospel. The successful applicant(s) will work with an existing team to teach English at an NGO-based community center that touches hundreds of families. There are many opportunities through the center and the established international church to create house church networks. The team has a vision to launch a new ministry in another strategic urban area with a high level of need. The applicant(s) will have the opportunity to help launch this new project by either joining it, or by supporting the existing work.

aXcess: Community Center Director in the Middle East

The team focuses on reaching the Kurds with the gospel through partnering with the local church and operating the Community Center. The team has a good relationship with the local Kurdish pastor and church leaders. Through the Community Center, we are seeking to develop relationships in a broader sphere of the local community, partnering with church members in building the relationships and sharing the gospel.
