2022-2023 School Year

Elementary Teachers:  Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or Early Childhood Education. US certification or the ability to obtain certification is required. Elementary teaching experience or successful completion of a student teaching experience is required. Native English proficiency (C1) is required.

Elementary Learning Support Teacher: Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field and experience working in a traditional school setting. Additional training in ESL is preferred. The Elementary School Learning Support Teacher will assist general education teachers in identifying and meeting the needs of students with disabilities or special needs, adjust lessons, develop specialized educational programs, and support parents of their students. Native English proficiency (C1) is required.

Secondary Bible Teacher: Must have a bachelor’s degree in Bible, theology, or a related field. Secondary teaching experience in a traditional classroom setting is required. Native English proficiency (C1) is required.

Secondary Math Teacher: Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Math Education or a related field. US certification or the ability to obtain certification is required. Secondary math teaching experience or successful completion of a student teaching field experience is required. Native English proficiency (C1) is required.

Secondary English Language Arts Teacher: Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in Secondary English Language Arts Education or a related field. US certification or the ability to obtain certification is required. Secondary English Language Arts teaching experience or successful completion of a student teaching field experience is required. Native English proficiency (C1) is required.

Secondary History Teacher: Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in history or secondary education with course credits in US and World History. US certification or the ability to obtain certification is required. Secondary teaching experience or successful completion of a student teaching field experience is required. Native English proficiency (C1) is required.

Secondary Special Education Teacher: Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field and experience working in a traditional school setting. The Secondary School Special Education Teacher will assist other subject area teachers in identifying and meeting the needs of students with disabilities or special needs, adjust lessons, develop specialized educational programs, and support parents of their students. Native English proficiency (C1) is required.

Secondary English as a Foreign Language Teacher: Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in ESL, ESOL, ELL, EFL or a related field and experience working in a traditional school setting. The Secondary EFL Teacher will assist other subject area teachers in identifying and meeting the needs of English Language Learners. US certification or the ability to obtain certification is required. Native English proficiency (C1) is required.

Schoolwide Computer & Technology Teacher: Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in education or technology. US certification or the ability to obtain certification is required. Teaching experience or successful completion of a student teaching field experience is required. Native English proficiency (C1) is required.

Athletics & Activities Director: Must have a bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Education, or related field. Experience teaching athletics and PE required. Experience in leadership and managing budgets required. Must be fluent in English and Spanish; must be organized, creative, and able to collaborate with area schools and oversee the AAI athletic program.

Spiritual Life Coordinator (full support): Must have abachelor’s degree with major in Biblical studies, Children’s/Youth Ministry or equivalent and at least five years in a full-time position related to the discipleship of children, youth, or adults. English proficiency and a minimum of an intermediate level of Spanish is required.  The Spiritual Life Coordinator contributes to the fulfillment of the Academy’s Ends and Mission by providing leadership and coordination of Christian spiritual formation activities for personnel, students, and their parents. While the school is not intended to be a substitute for the local church, AAI desires to complement and work in coordination with the ministry of local churches as one body in an ecumenical fashion. Similarly, this position is not intended to release faculty from discipleship and mentoring responsibilities but rather enable and support such activities.

Director of External Engagement: Must have a bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred. Preferred five years of experience engaging external stakeholders in either an admission, marketing, communications, and/or development (fundraising) capacity. Bilingual in Spanish/English required. The Director of External Engagement contributes to the fulfillment of the Academy’s Ends and Mission by providing strategic and operational leadership for those functions facing external stakeholders, specifically Admissions, Communications, Marketing, and Advancement. He/she ensures clear and compelling communication that advances institutional goals.

Curriculum Designer and Trainer: Must have a bachelor’s degree in Education, Curriculum/Instruction, Instructional Design, or related field. Master’s degree preferable. Must have at least 3 years of experience as an elementary or secondary classroom teacher and at least 2 years of curriculum design experience including online instruction. Ideally, we are looking for a fully bilingual speaker or a native Spanish speaker with professional working English (level 3/B2). The Curriculum Designer and Trainer contributes to the fulfillment of the Academy’s Ends and Mission by creating or adapting online curriculum for use in a K-12 hybrid program (combination of online and in-person instruction). This role will also serve part-time in an instructional capacity for an online teacher training program.
