Yuna* got to know an Alliance worker in Japan through an English conversation group for moms. She eventually began to attend a church and committed her life to Jesus. Her story is rare in Japan, where only 2 percent of people are Christian, but many others like her are longing for the connection, acceptance, and truth she found.

Through this project, you will establish an inviting, comfortable café for lonely and isolated people, like Yuna, to meet with friends, participate in English conversation groups, take baking classes, and discover the joy and peace they have yet to find in Jesus. To make the space more accommodating for local parents, the café will also include a children’s play area.
