Fifteen-year-old Shifa* was drugged, kidnapped, and forced to work at a brothel. Her nightmare continued for a month until she was freed through a rescue operation led by Justice Ventures International (JVI) and local partners in India. Today, she’s safe and on a long road to recovery, but more than 50 million other people remain trapped in bonded labor, human trafficking, and other forms of slavery.
