Prayer Letter/Ministry Update

Dear Friends and Prayer Partners,

Thank you so much for your continued prayers and support. Like many of you, we are in the midst of the worldwide pandemic. While there seem to be many who "just don't believe it is real" here, we are taking this seriously and looking for opportunities to share the love and hope we have in knowing Jesus. We are observing the "stay at home" recommendation of our leaders. So far, we are not on total lockdown, but we go out only to get food. This will be a challenge in the coming days, no doubt.

Prayer Requests/Answers to Prayer

1. Pray for those who are leading our churches as they navigate the world of digital services. Pray specifically for Gilberto and Laura, church planters in Mexico City. Pray also for Ana Miriam and Saúl who are sharing the responsibilities of pastoring La Fuente, as the pastor will not be returning to Mexico as originally planned. Pray for the team of servant leaders who share the responsibilities of serving in various ways with Ana Miriam and Saúl (Tim, Cynthia, Carlos, Pablo, Paulina). Pray for Pastors Mario and Arturo, as well. Pastoring at a distance is challenging. Pray for our congregations to continue to give to support their pastors, even though they cannot meet for now.

2. Pray for our pastors and leaders to continue to boldly pray to the Lord of the harvest to send out more workers into the harvest. Even though all public meetings are cancelled for the time being, we know that God is connecting hearts through digital platforms around the country of Mexico. We are trusting God for a great harvest even in the midst of a pandemic!

Pray specifically for our indigenous groups (Otomi, Wixarika, and others) during this crisis. They are no longer able to sell their artisan goods on the streets which means they do not have income for food or basic needs. Pray for our Brave Heart volunteers as they work with these groups to find ways to help them and give them dignity.

3. Pray for more opportunities for partnering with like minded groups in providing theological training for those who desire to serve God in their communities and world. Pray for openness to consider alternative delivery sytems for training, such as online courses and orality. Pray for our national leaders as they seek to take training to some of the more isolated areas of Mexico. Pray for those of us who have been invited to serve in training leaders in a small community of believers who were thrown out of their village. This training is underway and we are trusting God to bring fruit in the lives of individuals as well as entire communities.

4. Praise God with us for the training time for pastors' wives and women's ministry leaders in February. It was a time to grow and learn together and one of the biggest takeaways for the women was the realization that they are not alone in ministry. Pray for continued connections and creativity as they apply what they learned in their local churches.

5. Thank the Lord for Bridgeway, the International Bilingual School, which serves our international workers and their families, as well as serves as a means of outreach to families in Mexico City. Please pray for financial provision as they struggle to meet financial obligations. Pray for unity and a sense of shared vision among the staff and teachers. Pray for Kevin, the director of the school. Pray for God to continue to provide qualified teachers who love Jesus. This is an ongoing request....dlon't stop praying, please!!!! The school is currently closed in compliance with the CoVid-19 precautions. Pray for parents and students who are adjusting to a different "classroom" setting.

6. Please continue to pray for unity and healthy relationships as we serve alongside our national brothers and sisters in ministry. Ask God to teach us how to walk humbly with Him and one another.

7. Praise God for a reconnection opportunity with my former neighbors (the majority are seniors). Pray that I will continue to have opportunities to share Jesus with these women. We cannot meet face to face, but they are using WhatsApp to keep connected. Pray for each one who is feeling isolated during this crisis.

Thank YOU for giving to the Great Commission Fund and for praying!
