Prayer Letter/Ministry Update

Where have you been?
Today at lunch Don told me his phone's report that he had been to 3 countries, so many cities and so many places in the past month. And that is the case. We left the U.S. and returned to Taiwan via a transit overnight in Korea. Many people prepared for that to happen including those who set aside time to safely deliver us to the airport, those who served the hotel and airlines, and those who prepared our home for our two week quarantine. For each and every one we are grateful. Following that time of "isolation" plus a following week of avoiding public places we have now spent a few days of freedom.
We've been shopping, attending a team meeting, out to eat, and with our Mission family for a working retreat. Tomorrow we will join our Sihhu Church family for our first "in house" church service in several weeks. We missed the normalcy of gathering in person and are grateful that we are now able to do that. We also recognize that in a world where many are still unable to be and go where they desire during the pandemic, we are only here by God's sovereign grace. Thank you for your prayers!

Where are we going? (or What's ahead?)
Next week is Lunar New Year and we will be around our home area and hope to visit with people while they are on their holiday break. We may have opportunity to visit our pastor's hometown in southern Taiwan. This is helpful for us to understand how to better "walk alongside" this couple in their ministry. Neither of them come from a Christian background so it is our privilege to be available to them and the church family as they need. Pray for us to be able to share our testimony with those we come in contact of traveling to and from the U.S. with God's peace .

How is Covid in Taiwan? With a stricter policy on quarantine and control over outside travel coming into the island Taiwan has maintained a lower level of infections. There have been some recently which cautions people as they travel all over the island for the biggest holiday of the year.

Prayer Requests/Answers to Prayer

Praise God for returning us safely to Taiwan.
Pray for peace of heart and mind during these days (We all need this, don't we?).
Pray for clarity and discernment for what "work" God has for us during this time.
Pray for God to tear through the darkness and fill hearts with a yearning for His light.
Pray for our Mission family to mutually support and care for each other as we minister in difficult places.
Pray for our local believers to have a gracious testimony with their friends and families over the Lunar New Year holidays.
