Noe and Keila Hernandez

Serving in Paraguay

We are Noe and Keila Hernandez and we are living and serving in Paraguay along with our children Magdalena (14), Santiago (12), and Eden (8). We love good coffee, good movies and good conversation. Our daughter Magdalena (Lena) is a budding artist and can often be found drawing in her notebooks. Santiago enjoys soccer, the Green Bay Packers, and is only sitting still when it is his turn to play on the iPad! Eden is a clever and sweet girl who desperately loves her dog.

A native of Mexico, Noe grew up in a Catholic home and as a teenager moved to the United States with his family. At the age of 17 Noe gave his life to the Lord and felt a call to full time ministry. Keila grew up on a farm in Iowa and gave her life to the Lord when she was 10 years old through the ministry of a Christian radio station.

Both attended Crown College and were married in 2003. From 2005-2013 they worked in church planting and Hispanic ministries in Ottumwa, IA. Missions has always been something close to their hearts and in October of 2012 they began to sense God's leading down to path towards international ministry. They moved to Asuncion, Paraguay in January, 2014.

How you can Pray

Greetings from Paraguay!
Part of missionary life is that there will always be changes. This past month we once again felt the bitter sweetness of this truth as we said goodbye to our Field Director couple, Bob and Joy Brougher. After a full career in overseas missionary service, the Brougher's left Paraguay for a year of home assignment and tour, and then retirement. We are deeply grateful to have had the chance to serve along side them over the past several years.
This month we also had the blessing of welcoming back Luis and Olga Felipa after 6 months spent visiting churches in the US and Puerto Rico. The Felipa's will be taking over the leadership roll for the mission and we are excited for the future of the work here.
Keeping with our theme of change, we are taking time for a change of scenery! We will be traveling to Illinois and Iowa! Noe's parents will be celebrating their 50th anniversary in Chicago next week! We are taking advantage of the opportunity to spend some time with family and hopefully enjoy some good Iowa sweetcorn too!

Please continue to pray!
-Pray for our continued work and ministry in Paraguay.
-Pray for the Alliance Pastors and church leaders.
-Pray for Bob and Joy Brougher during their home assignment.
-Pray for Luis and Olga Felipa as they lead our team.
-Pray for the students and teachers of IMAP, (Paraguayan Alliance Ministry Institute).
-Pray for additional teams/worker visits we have scheduled for July and August.
-Pray for the Zuber family who will be spending 1 year in Costa Rica studying Spanish, before joining our team in Paraguay.
-Pray for the Alliance Youth Retreat being planed for November. (More details coming soon!)
-Pray for our travels to and from the States, and for a restful time with family.

Blessings to you all,
Noe and Keila,
Lena, Santi, and Eden
