“And the things that you have heard me say…entrust to reliable men who will also be able to teach others. II Timothy 2:2

Dear Folks:

Wow we can tell that you have been praying! Here are some short snapshots of recent events!

--10 Year anniversary at the hospital went well! Many attended. Praise to God given, songs of gratitude, short yet encouraging speeches. Thank you for praying!

--A young man says at a border stop, “I want to learn more about being a Christian” Marilyn spends an hour sharing stories from the Old Testament and the New Testament about Christ. We leave him with a New Testament, keep in touch by phone and two weeks later as we cross again we meet with him and he is ready to make the step of following Jesus!! Please pray for David!

--We hear from others that two days after a training, a women in the training had to fill in at the last minute in a prison ministry. She stood, told a Bible story from the training, asked the questions and the people loved it! Her husband also used a story from the training on a visit to a village to console a family who had lost a daughter at the local hospital. He gathered everyone around to listen. He left a strong witness of the power of God there.

--A 4th year Bible school student (an older student) went out to tell a story for his homework. He returned saying that the elderly Muslim man to whom he told the story commended him saying, “You Christians usually just preach at us, but you have told me a story and that is the way we share truth in our culture. Keep on doing that!”

What a huge encouragement this is, these trainings are deeply appreciated and bearing fruit! Thanks for your prayers as we were able to do 5 (3 day) trainings in 5 weeks! We see God at work through your prayers! Many expressed how grateful they are for this training.

And now we go on our trip to Cote d’Ivoire on Wednesday for a month of 4 different trainings and other meetings. Thank you for being a part of this ministry through your giving and your faithful prayers.

For those who like to pray by a schedule :

How can you pray?
-As always, please pray a protection against any of the distractions, (problems in pastors families and churches, etc.) that would pull them out of trainings or distract them from learning what they need.
-Pray that they would understand the value of this approach and see how to use it effectively in their ministries.
-Pray for pastors to have enough love for people and the courage they need to change their way of ministering.
-Pray for safety in travel, health, energy and enthusiasm for each training.

-Pray for our neighbors in Bobo as we seek to love them for the Lord…and tell stories from His Word. (We hope to tell the third story there tonight.)

For those of you who pray also for our children, here are prayer needs/ celebrations for our family! We are so grateful for the children and grand children that God has given. Thank you for remembering them.

- Pray for Joanna for wisdom and strength and to stay well, the flu is going around.
- Pray for Rachel for continued wisdom in her classroom at the middle school and strength for each day.
- We congratulate our son-in-law, Will, who recently got his I.T. degree! Pray as he looks for a new job in this field.
- Pray for Dan in his work (recently promoted to branch manager!) for wisdom and blessing.
- For daughter-in-law Amy as she juggles a Mary Kay business, teaching piano and church ministries while caring for two little ones.
- For grand children: David and Abby (Dan and Amy’s) and Joshua (Rachel and Will’s). We love seeing them all on Face time!  (Josh will be three in March! David is 3 and a half and Abby is 17months!)
******************
God bless all of you dear ones, precious in God’s sight. May He meet your needs today and give you joy as you seek Him for all that is before you. Thank you again for traveling with us on this journey and for praying for many to understand the amazing love and plan of God for us!

Love in Christ,
Craig and Marilyn Hanscome
