Stonecrest Community Church is a multi-cultural, multi-generational congregation with an average weekly attendance of over 500 attendees in Warren, New Jersey. We are seeking our next Lead Pastor, to coincide with the retirement of our current Lead Pastor of over 20 years, to further our current mission which is to know Christ and to make him known to a hurting world. The church’s core values are grounded in the following: -FOLLOWING JESUS - the intentional process of hearing, understanding, and obeying Jesus in every area of my life. (John 10:27) -FINDING FREEDOM - the ongoing process of thinking, feeling, and acting with inner peace based on my identity in Christ. (John 10:10) -DISCOVERING SIGNIFICANCE - finding satisfaction through the "good works" that God has prepared me to do. (Ephesians 2:10) -MAKING A DIFFERENCE - being an influence to others in my life, pointing them to Jesus. (Matthew 5:16) Position Overview: We desire a Lead Pastor that embodies a Christ-like character (1 Timothy 3:2-7, Titus 1:6-9), who will be an advocate and communicator for the vision of the church. This person will be the primary leader, teacher, and visionary, and will have a broad responsibility for the spiritual welfare, growth, and life of the church in all areas including discipleship, evangelism, and equipping the congregation for service. To effectively lead the church, the Lead Pastor is to embody the essence of a shepherd and a servant leader. The Lead Pastor is responsible for supporting the church staff’s spiritual needs and fostering managerial development. The Lead Pastor’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: -Visionary Leader of the Church Responsible and accountable for the visionary direction of the church at every level (Congregation, Governing Board, Elders and Staff). Clarifies the direction of the church, maintains core values, leads in establishment and evaluation of strategies, and mobilizes the congregation to fulfill its vision/mission. -Primary Teaching Pastor Fosters an environment where every man, woman, and child will feel welcomed, experience the manifest presence of God, and be challenged by relevant, inspiring, and Biblical preaching all leading toward their next step of life change. -Foster a Culture of Life-Changing Relationships Disciples leaders that nurture community involvement and spiritual growth that are relevant and accessible to all. Mentors others in their commitment to follow Christ and gives focused attention to development and effective operation of discipleship ministries of the church. -Commit to Kingdom Justice and Mercy Addresses inequalities such that every man, woman and child from diverse ethnicities, cultures, and backgrounds be given clear and compelling opportunities which lead to tangible and gracious action to make a difference in our society and culture to reflect the Kingdom of God. -Shepherd and Pastoral Care Provides individually and through empowerment of the staff, pastoral care of the congregation through intercession, Biblical counseling, relationship building, and support through life events. -Ministry Empowerment Enables ministry teams to build the body of Christ and extend His Kingdom by encouraging each person to fulfill their calling to service and evangelism to Make a Difference in people's lives, our community, the region, and around the world. -Executive Oversight Provides the link between church governance and the staff as Head Elder and a member of the Governing Board. Oversees all business aspects of the church including finance, operations, and staff goals, performance, and development. Qualifications and Requirements: -Master of Divinity or Master of Theology/Ministry from an Accredited University, College or Seminary -Eligible for Christian & Missionary Alliance ordination prior to hire -7+ years of full-time ministry experience leading a culturally and ethnically diverse community -Managerial experience overseeing blended staff and volunteer leadership structure Other Duties: The Pastor may perform other duties as assigned or deemed necessary by the Governing Board. Reports to: Governing Board Salary, Benefits and Employment Period: -Salary Range & Benefits: Determined pending contract negotiations -Employment Period: Full-time, Twelve (12) Months
