CHILDREN'S MINISTRY PASTOR/DIRECTOR Freshwater Community Church, St. Bonifacius, MN Freshwater Community Church, located in St. Bonifacius, MN, a suburb west of Minneapolis, is searching for their next children's ministry pastor/director. This person will have extensive experience in leading a thriving children's ministry in a large church. He/she will have an entrepreneurial mindset concerning evangelizing both churched and unchurched families. He/she will demonstrate a passion to see children grow in their faith. He/she will demonstrate experience in the recruitment, management and development of leaders to serve as coworkers in the ministry. And, he/she will have exceptional communication skills as it relates to children and families. Freshwater is searching for a pastor/director who can take them into the future. They currently meet on two campuses about 7 miles apart. The 2nd campus is in Waconia, MN. Both venues have full kids ministry on Sunday. The congregation is raising funds to purchase land between the two campuses with the intention to build a new facility for weekend ministries. The new children's ministry pastor/director will have the opportunity and be provided with the resources to lead the ministry into significant numerical and spiritual growth over the next decade. The role of the children's pastor is to lead the children's ministries of Fresh water Church, including ministry to the parents. This will require a firm grasp of the mission, vision, and strategy of Freshwater Church alongside the ability to align staff and key leadership teams with these guiding principles. This person will utilize a ministry philosophy to partner with parents to lead kids to genuine sense of belonging, involvement, and spiritual growth at Freshwater. This position will facilitate relational connection and spiritual growth of kids through weekend environments, small groups, and volunteer teams. Responsible to carry out the mission of Freshwater to help reach non-believing individuals, connect them with other Christians, help them grow in their faith, serve others and honor Christ. Provide spiritual care, guiding and supporting children and parents throughout their spiritual journey. Develop and implement a plan for ongoing leadership training and encouragement. He/she is responsible for raising up leaders through the leadership pipeline for the church. For children's ministry, the children's pastor leads the process for discerning and clarifying the vision for children's ministry, then gives leadership and supervision for implementing that vision. For parent's ministry, the children's pastor leads the coaching of parents and children (privately) on specific issues in their family. Be the face of Freshwater Church in the community for Freshwater Kids ministries. Qualifications for this position include: a mature and tested faith in Jesus Christ with a strong knowledge of the Bible, strong desire to see lives in the local community transformed by the gospel and mobilized to live out the Great Commission, experienced and skilled in recruiting, training, vision casting, and developing others, ability to work independently and to complete tasks within established time frames, ability to work effectively with members, ministry leaders and teams, have a proven track record of effective leadership, wisdom, and above reproach character. Behavioral objectives for this position include: keeping confidential matters confidential, maintaining a Christ-like attitude, being a cheerleader of people, empowering others to do ministry, and having a teachable spirit. Key deliverables for pastor care include: provide spiritual and administrative leadership to Freshwater kids, counsel individuals and couples as needed, strong oral/written and presentation skills with the ability to articulate the intent and value of the church's vision/mission/goals/strategy/plans, and responsible for approving ministry decisions for the ministries under their care (curriculum programming, processes, etc.). Key deliverables for children's ministry include: strategic ministry planning for children and families, identity problems and find solutions in a complex environment, develop and implement a plan for ongoing leadership training and encouragement, ensure all Freshwater kids ministries they are responsible for are raising up leaders through the leadership pipeline, and ensure Freshwater Kids provides a safe and secure environment for kids (managing background checks, conducting volunteer training, and partnering with Safety & Security ministry), oversee Freshwater Kids at both campuses on Sunday birth to 10- year olds, oversee DOCK 45 (4th and 5th grade students) on Wednesday nights, ensure there is synergistic smooth transitions from grade to grade and ministry to ministry, provide leadership for children ministry regarding budget creation/ and resource management, and supervise all paid staff for children's ministries. This full time position has a salary range of $45,000-$50,000 based on qualifications and experience. Benefits are available for purchase. The cost of benefits comes out of the pay package if benefits are desired. The employee will be able to pick a health insurance plan or apply for the Christian and Missionary Alliance plan if they meet the qualifications. Paid Time Off (PTO) is accrued each pay period. First year vacation is two weeks plus an additional paid week between Christmas and New Year. Quarterly spiritual retreat days are not PTO days.
