Summary: Christ Community Church in Omaha, NE is searching for a Director of Group Life with a heart for connecting adults into community; empower them for discipleship and releasing them to impact their community and world. This position works under the adult discipleship pastor and collaborates with the discipleship team to set the direction and provide leadership for small and mid-size adult groups at CCC. About the Church: The story of Christ Community Church began in 1921 in Omaha, NE. Dr. R.R. Brown established the Omaha Gospel Tabernacle as part of The Christian and Missionary Alliance. In 1982 the name was changed to Christ Community Church, the current buildings were completed, and God blessed the ministry with significant influence and growth. The current Lead Pastor Mark Ashton joined CCC in 2006 with a powerful vision to reach the city, the nation, and the world with the love of Christ. For 98 years, Christ Community Church has been making disciples of Jesus for Kingdom impact. We have been seeking the deeper life in Christ and sending missionaries to the least-reached places on the planet. Over the years, we have seen kids raised to love Jesus, marriages restored, lost people found, lonely people included, pain healed, hospitals built, pastors trained, and love poured out worldwide. Thousands have trusted Christ and grown to become ambassadors for Jesus in a needy world. We’re looking for someone to: • Bring passion and expertise to the Group Life Ministry of CCC. This person will be a leader of leaders, outgoing and people-loving, and driven to make disciples who make disciples. • Prepare and implement an annual strategy to connect people into community. This includes having year round opportunities for connecting unconnected people into various groups at CCC. • Equip group leader coaches with intentional and consistent relationally-based development meetings, teaching and modeling how they will in turn develop group leaders under their care. • Produce a developmental plan for new and on-going group leaders. • Support the senior pastor as he champions groups by gathering and sharing stories of relational, transformational and missional impact through group life. • Develop disciple making curriculum for groups by utilizing the resources and experiences of the discipleship team and leadership teams in the church. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree required; (preferably from an accredited bible college or seminary) • Currently (or able to be) licensed and ordained/consecrated in the Christian and Missionary Alliance (https://www.cmalliance.org/serve/qualifications) • 3-5 years of experience of providing leadership to a groups based discipleship ministry. Responsibilities: 60% - Discipleship and Leadership Development • Develops group curriculum on an ongoing basis for all small group and mid-sized groups. • Prepares, coordinates, and leads on-going Group Leader development • Leads new leader recruitment and training. • Develops, implements, and leads the Group Leader Coaching Strategy. • Coaches 30+ group leaders utilizing and leading 6+ coaches. • Teaches 2-4 mid-sized groups and courses per year as needed and assist in the teaching of Foundations (CCC discipleship/membership course) • Co-leads the C4 Leadership Development courses (CCC lay-leadership program) 20% - Assimilation and Connection • Oversees the on-going connection strategy of new group members. • Creates on-going communication to track an individual’s progression into a disciple making community. • Guides and directs other adult ministry staff through assimilation objectives. • Oversees the Sunday morning Next Steps area designed to connect with and follow up adults in discipleship opportunities. • Recruits, trains, and empowers a volunteer team responsible for assimilation and connection. 10% Resident Supervision • Supervises one or more residents in the Discipleship Ministry. 10% Church-wide responsibilities • Attend meetings, staff prayer, participate in the pastor on-call ministry, hospital visitation, etc. Other than the supervisor and/or team leader, who are the key individuals or groups that this position will interact with on a regular basis? • Adult Discipleship Admin • Communications Director • Spiritual Formation Team • First Impressions Director • Residency Coordinator
