Youth/Student Ministries Pastor Grand Rapids Alliance Church, Grand Rapids, MN The primary responsibility of the full-time Youth Pastor is to lead the Grand Rapids Alliance Church (GRAC) Youth Program, which is focused on 7th-12th grade students. The secondary area of responsibility for the youth pastor is to develop and schedule our worship ministry. This position is accountable to and reports to the Lead Pastor and Elder Board. Qualifications: - Possess a strong, vibrant and mature personal faith in Christ - Bachelor's degree in related field preferred - Views youth ministry as a calling, not a job or a stepping stone - A track record of effective outreach, discipleship, equipping, and sending - Strong relational skills - A self-starter with a strong work ethic - Strong communication skills Primary Responsibilities: - Ministry leadership for the discipleship process of students grades 7-12. - Oversee outreach to students in Grand Rapids and surrounding communities for grades 7-12. - Recruit and develop student and adult leaders for the youth ministry. Focus on empowering and equipping teens that will do the work of ministry, not do ministry for them. - Empower parents of youth to disciple their teens. - Develop fulfilling Christ-centered inter-generational relationships between teens and others in our congregation. - Develop and manage a youth budget. - Create and manage a student ministry calendar. Secondary Responsibilities: - Support and schedule GRAC worship ministry teams (working with many well-developed worship teams already in place, ability to lead a worship team is not required). - Support and schedule sound technicians. - Any additional duties as assigned by the lead pastor. Grand Rapids Alliance Church is a loving community centered on Jesus Christ and located in the Northwoods of Minnesota. Attendance is around 180 weekly. Our mission is to glorify God by knowing Christ and being involved in His great commission. One of our visions has been to become a multiplication center, and we have successfully planted two churches in our community as a result. Our congregation spans every age group. We have a large core group of young families, as well as thriving children's and youth programs. We currently have many student athletes and have been instrumental in starting a local FCA chapter in Grand Rapids. Our church is currently focusing on reaching, discipling, and empowering young families for Jesus; this includes transitioning current youth pastor to role of lead pastor. We also have plans to develop more ministries for the mature generations in the congregation.
