Tech savvy and able to troubleshoot/address problems quickly Worship Director Job Description (Part-time or full-time, dependent on the applicant with the job responsibilities adjusted accordingly. It is currently a full-time, fully compensated position that could be divided into two part-time roles if functional.) Bloomingdale Church has had a considerable experience in engaging responsible young adults (over a dozen) in part-time staff positions, mentoring them into skilled leaders while attending Moody, Trinity or Wheaton Graduate School. The Responsibilities (full-time) Guide the weekend worship services to the glory of God  Direct the worship teams to lead with surrendered hearts to God and with excellence in presentation.  Inspire the congregation to love and praise God, employing creativity in music, Scripture, prayer, testimonies, media and other art forms.  Direct the staging and presentation in the worship environment. Coordinate the worship teams and worship planning team  Lead one or more of the worship teams and participate on other teams as desired/needed.  Guide a creative worship arts team that plans dynamic worship that include the elements of vibrant Scripture reading, uplifting music, heart-felt prayer and faith stories.  Plan God-centered worships that connect with three primary target groups (established believers, new believers & unbelievers).  Give pastoral care to the worship teams, guiding them to be spiritually focused, authentic, humble and serving together as a team.  Oversee the worship teams in owning and modeling the church’s priorities.  Have a passion to invest in others, raising up God-seeking skilled leaders, worship teams and support teams. Build a strong “bench”.  Quality control the music for congregational “singability” and content, and maintain a balance of contemporary and traditional music.  Consult with lead pastor and worship leaders regarding the worship and message for needed adjustments after the first worship hour each weekend.  Complete the Weekend Worship Evaluation review with the team leaders.  Consult weekly with lead pastor to strategize key worship elements. Other Worship Related Roles  Lead the choir in three yearly segments of at least two weekend worships. Strategize the choir as an assimilation group.  Foster music groups such as a men’s quartet, brass ensemble, etc.  Raise up new musicians from among the children/teens and support the Awana music team.  Give training to the Technical Directors overseeing the sound, screen, video and lighting.  Recruit, train and quality control the sound, screen and video teams.  Post the weekend content to the website.  Instruct the Decorating Committee concerning desired seasonal sanctuary decor.  Assure the care of worship equipment and maintain an efficient retrieval system for the digital documents.  Provide worship content and proof weekend bulletin.  Direct the music portion of baptismal and special seasonal services, as well as annual Day Camp Band. Other Roles (expected of all of the pastoral staff)  Be a model of servant leadership.  Lead a discipleship group not associated with worship teams.  Attend a weekly prayer group that focuses the salvation of unbelievers.  Maintain regular office hours.  Meet with staff for weekly accountability.  Serve with the other pastors in stewarding the church’s equipment/resources.  Support staff initiatives including data entry and event planning.  Submit semi-annual written reports to the Governing Board and Shepherds.  Receive a 6-month review of duties and goals.  Accountability: Report to the Lead Pastor.
