Lead Pastor – Centerville, Ohio Centerville Community Church (CCC) Background: Centerville Community Church (CCC) is a church of 400 people in Sunday morning attendance with a strong history of demonstrating grace, generosity and friendliness. Offering two Sunday service worship styles of traditional/blended and contemporary/modern, we are one body with a vision to be passionate followers of Jesus Christ. We are guided by our Values of Celebrating, Connecting and Contributing, all built on a foundation of prayer. CCC is positioned for a bright and impactful future as we have young and old alike who are committed to God’s glory and mission. The church is generally healthy in spirit and purpose, but has experienced many losses over the past eighteen months through multiple staff changes. We are experiencing a time of healing and restoration through the ministry of an Interim Pastor. We look forward to a new Lead Pastor who will provide leadership and vision for a church that is eager to move forward. To get more information about all that CCC has to offer, visit our website at: Position’s Purpose: This position exists to lead the Church of Jesus Christ, as represented by CCC, into the fulfillment of the mission Christ gave His church, namely, “to make disciples of all nations”. Position’s Scope: This position will provide leadership direction for all ministries occurring in CCC, with specific focus on the following core activities: -Prayer -Preaching/Teaching/Discipleship -Vision Development and Strategic planning to guide the execution within CCC -Building and sustaining a healthy church -Staff and Leadership development -Global and local outreach and missions -Administrative oversight Other responsibilities may include activities such as counseling, pre-marital preparation and weddings, crisis intervention, hospital visits and funerals. Key Responsibilities: -Cast vision and develop a ministry plan to implement the above statement. -Regularly communicate the Vision to all segments of the church family. -Hire staff, as needed, in coordination with the personnel committee and approval of the Governing Board. -Train and develop leaders, both staff and volunteer, for key ministry positions. -Meet regularly with the church Governing Board and Elders. Requirements and Education: -Meets the qualification of an Elder as found in I Timothy 3:1-7. -Licensed or licensable in the Christian and Missionary Alliance. -Has a clear sense of God’s call to pastoral ministry at Centerville Community Church for this time in his life. -Commitment to on-going personal growth and character development. -A Master of Divinity is preferred. Qualifications: -Exhibits self-awareness and spiritual maturity. -Shows humility and dependence on God. -Is passionate about reaching the lost and making disciples. -Has a growing, authentic relationship with God and is led by His Spirit, ministering in His power. -Shows passion for the Lord to our church family. -Engages people easily and warmly; shows a pastoral heart. -Seeks God in all things, and then leads courageously. -Has a track record of leading change in a godly, healthy and affirming manner. Understands and values the church’s past as he leads it into the future. -Is a unifier, is approachable, and accessible. -Is able to manage conflict effectively. -Ability to connect relationally with the leaders and the people of the church, getting to know them. -Is able to shape vision for the future and to communicate that vision to the Governing Board and to the church. Organizational Relationship: -This position is accountable to the Governing Board. Other: This is a full-time position with a time commitment of 50+ hours/week.
