Position: Pastor/Director of Student Ministries Status: Fulltime, Salaried Location: York, PA Nestled in the rolling hills of south central Pennsylvania between Baltimore and Harrisburg, Glenview Alliance Church offers the prospective youth pastor the opportunity to explore rural, suburban and city life. With a core group of thirty students in grades 6-12 and over ten committed adult leaders, our youth ministry continues to be viewed as a vital part of our church as it was in its beginnings over forty years ago. As part of the Christian and Missionary Alliance, we desire for our young people to know Jesus as their Savior, Sanctifier, Healer, and Coming King. Do you feel called to serve in this way? Leadership, vision, & strategic planning that fosters a community of growing, Christ filled, students and volunteer staff B. An environment that is inviting for all students and allows everyone to experience God’s Love, Truth, and Hope II. Responsibilities of the Position A. Direct pastoral care/leadership of all student ministries (Middle – High School) B. Develop the vision and strategic plans for student ministries that complement the vision & mission of GAC. Communicate such to all stakeholders. C. Develop and maintain budgets for student ministries D. Provide oversight, direction, training, and encouragement to student ministry leaders, providing them with tools necessary to achieve objectives E. Interact/communicate effectively with parents of students providing them with tools that help in the spiritual growth of the student F. Support missions both locally and globally within student ministries G. Represent GAC student ministries at the local, district, and national levels H. Develop & sustain a comprehensive Biblical educational curriculum that builds upon previously learned material and fosters spiritual growth I. Meet with GAC office team/pastoral staff as required and maintain mutually agreed upon office hours J. Represent student ministries in Governing Board meetings & provide monthly reports K. Ensure proper coverage/scheduling for all GAC student ministry classes and activities L. Collaborate with ministry leaders and engage in open discussions and reflections about student ministry goals and objectives III. Qualifications for the Position A. To live a life that demonstrates a growing and deepening love for and commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ which is demonstrated by: a. Spending time with the Lord each day in the Word and prayer b. Being fully committed to the life and ministry of GAC B. Call of God to student ministry with Christ’s love and passion for students C. Commitment to live by the standards set forth in I Timothy 3:1-7 D. Bachelor’s degree in Youth/Family Ministry (preferred) E. Experience serving as youth pastor or similar vocation F. Minimum commitment of 3 years of service to GAC as Pastor of Student Ministries G. Proven effective listener & communicator H. Energetic team player with a proven, strong work ethic I. Creative, with the ability to balance multiple tasks simultaneously J. Licensed worker within C&MA or agree to become one within 3 months of hire with the intention of becoming ordained within the C&MA if not already. K. Must be able to manage, delegate, and cast/ensure execution of vision effectively L. Must exhibit professionalism regardless of location & situation The Pastor of Student Ministries will report directly to the Lead Pastor. This is a paid staff position of at least 40 hours per week, not to include hours of ministry on Sunday morning. Salary will be reviewed annually by the finance committee and Governing Board.
