Alliance Northwest District C&MA

East Hills Alliance Church is seeking a Senior Pastor to lead our multi-campus congregation in Kelso and Longview, Washington. The Church’s long held vision of expanding to reach into the community by launching a new campus in Longview was fulfilled in 2014 with the opening of The Grove Alliance. Although now meeting in two campuses, we remain one church, and our vision for the future is to launch additional campus expansions into other neighboring communities in Cowlitz County. We are looking for a Senior Pastor that God has prepared to lead us during this time of growth, as we learn how to live out the vision of being “one church, multiple campuses”. Consistent with the Constitution of The CMA, “The senior (lead) pastor shall have oversight of this church.” The Senior Pastor will serve as the Campus Pastor for either the East Hills campus in Kelso, or The Grove campus in Longview. He will also oversee all other Campus Pastors, Support Ministry Pastoral staff, and other ministry leaders. He will stimulate and develop a sense of partnership and teamwork amongst the campus pastors and ministry support leaders to coordinate campus ministries and develop and implement outreach plans. The Senior Pastor must be a gifted communicator of God’s Word and a learner himself. He will have received a biblical education that has prepared him for pastoral ministry, and will value biblical exposition as well as practical application in his teaching. He will have a passion and ability to make the truths of the Scripture relevant to those exploring the faith, as well as challenging devoted followers of Jesus, leading people to experience and follow Jesus. He will have a clear spiritual calling to the role of Senior Pastor, and meet the biblical qualification for eldership expressed in 1Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9. He will shepherd the staff as well as the congregation, and will cast inspirational and actionable vision for the future. He will possess a proven track record of developing others and have the ability to work with lay and staff leaders on the team. He must be a team builder capable of mentoring and supervising multiple staff. He must be able to cultivate and maintain a community of authenticity and transparency, where the wounded and addicted can share their struggles honestly and receive grace and healing. Qualifications and Personal Attributes: Minimum Qualifications • At least 5 years of pastoral experience, including experience in a multi-staff congregation • A Bachelor’s Degree (required), and a Master’s or Doctorate Degree (preferred) • All doctrinal beliefs must be in harmony with the CMA denomination; understands, embraces, and exercises the following tenets: o Prayer is the foundational work of ministry o Expects, and encourages others to expect, God to work supernaturally o Supports the CMA concept of “Higher and Deeper Life” in Christ Other CMA governing articles of faith can be found at the following link: http://www.cmalliance.org/about/beliefs/ Additionally: • Spirit-filled character, demonstrates healthy relationships with others • Emphasizes the power and practice of prayer • Promotes and encourages community, regional, national, and international involvement in the Gospel of Jesus Christ • Seeks and waits upon the Lord for guidance, and consults with others regularly • Demonstrates a teachable spirit and is a team player • Models a passionate love for Jesus and people & has a passion for people to know and grow in Jesus • Appreciates and affirms the talents and gifts of others • Enjoys and relates effectively to people of all ages • Has strong leadership qualities which are enhanced by shepherding skills • Give competent, skillful, considerate and relationally based leadership in the areas of administration, counseling, mentoring, preaching & staff management • Seminary degree is preferred, or comparable training & experience
