Purpose: The Student Ministries Pastor will use their unique gifts and audience to help fulfill the vision of Freshwater Church – to courageously share the life-changing love of Jesus Christ in a real, relevant, and relational manner. Responsibilities: The Student Ministries Pastor is responsible for ministry efforts with 6th-12th grade students. The youth pastor will form a strategic partnership with families that recognizes their key role in discipleship. This includes developing and managing volunteer leaders, teaching, planning, administrative, and programming geared towards the goal of transforming young lives into young adults who are close to Christ. They will report directly to the executive pastor. They will be required to create a calendar detailing student lesson plans, create and maintain an effective ministry budget, and organize mission opportunities for all students annually. The Student Ministries Pastor will be expected to recruit and lead volunteer teams and maintain consistent meeting and training schedules with them. They also must attend student conferences with students, plan and follow through on outreach events, and effectively communicate with students and parents on a consistent basis. There will also be some pastoral ministry requirements: -Preform weddings and funerals as required -Counsel individuals and couples -Mentor adults-Participate in a small group -Carry our Sunday morning responsibilities assigned -Maintain all required data points in the ministry scoreboard General duties: -Attend weekly staff meetings -Prepare monthly staff report to executive pastor -Assist the lead pastor and executive pastor as directed -Work as a team with other staff members -Maintain set office hours -Attend at least one worship service every week unless on vacation -Conduct annual reviews of Student Ministry volunteers -Represent Freshwater in the community through participation in community events and activities -Provide solid administration to ensure the ministry is effective and efficient Requirements & Qualifications: -Meets qualifications for biblical leadership (1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1) -Has Theological alignment with Freshwater -Minimum five years of experience in youth ministry -Agrees to the C&MA Statement of Faith -Active member of Freshwater Church -Bachelor's degree or higher (seminary preferred, but not required) -Background check will be required Character Qualities: The Student Ministries Pastor should be a team player, teachable, and honest. They should attend church regularly, serve regularly, and give regularly. They should also lead a positive example in life, be able to submit to leadership, and be a growing Christian. Salary: Compensation is commensurate with experience. Strong benefits package.
