Converge began as a group of collaborative Alliance missions pastors who gathered with a desire to make global and local outreach more effective in their local churches.
What developed is now an annual gathering for pastors, missions leaders, and community outreach staff from Alliance churches with an attendance of 300 or more.
Our goal through Converge is to provide an opportunity for like-minded leaders to gather, share ideas, encourage and stir one another’s passion for greater Alliance missions engagement in your congregations.

I’m Glenn Hanna, Missions Pastor at Allegheny Center Alliance Church (ACAC) in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. ACAC has made a commitment to bring our church’s missions efforts fully into the 21st century. (So much of what is done in missions has the musty smell of the 19th century.) We are seeking to rethink everything about missions and maximize its impact in every aspect of our church.
I have found Converge to be a wonderful resource and been blessed to have attended all five years this conference has been held. Each year has been of great value to me and ACAC. I have met other missions mobilizers, pastors, and ministry directors, who have walked the same path that I seek to walk. I have learned from them and discovered how great it is to not have to reinvent the wheel.
Converge has covered topics like missions leadership, organization, partnerships, resources, short-term trips, missions education, and many others. I have made valuable friendships with other mobilizers, who have encouraged and mentored me through the process of reorganization. I have been blessed to visit the churches of several people whom I met at Converge and observed how they have advanced missions in their congregations.
I would encourage everyone who is serious about missions advancement to attend Converge. After attending the first conference in February 2011, I encouraged our missions committee chair, our district missions mobilizer, and several other church missions leaders from around our district, to attend. All were inspired, challenged, and encouraged by the depth and breadth of the topics and material covered. I will attend for the sixth time in 2016.
